GENERAL RULES

  1. All presenters should have registered for the conference at the time of abstract submission.
  2. Each Student can participate in a maximum of one event from each category (Total of two events)
  3. All scientific events will be conducted on October 21st 2019 and October 22nd 2019.
  4. Last date for registration for Category A is October 15th 2019 (Abstract Submission) and Last date for Category B and Academic Quiz is October 15th
  5. Strict adherence to specific guidelines is requested.
  6. Name of college and the guide name should not be revealed in the final presentation. If found, the presenter would be disqualified
  7. No change in the topic, title, subject or the category of presentation will be entertained after submission.
  8. Students shall bring their own slide-changers, laser pointers / handouts/ other such material.
  9. All participants must show their College ID cards and MIDAS ID cards at the time of participation. If not, they will not be allowed to participate in the event.
  10. The decision of the scientific committee will be final and binding.

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

  1. The abstract must be in English not exceeding 250 - 300 words excluding title, author and institutional affiliation.
  2. It is mandatory that the abstract should have the following details as the Heading: Name/ Names of Presenters, Institution, Year of Study, MIDAS Reg No, Subject and Topic.
  3. The abstract should be reviewed and counter-signed by the Head of the Department, who must also take responsibility of the contents of the respective presentations. It should not contain misinterpreted or plagiarized material.
  4. Typed matter should be in Microsoft Word Document in A4 size with standard margins, Times New Roman, Font size 12, Line spacing 1.5.
  5. Only the scanned copy of the abstract signed by HOD should be uploaded in PDF format.
  6. Last date for abstract submission is October 23rd 2018

RULES FOR PAPER PRESENTATION

  1. Students will be allowed to present papers in all BDS Clinical Subjects

    (Oral Medicine & Radiology, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics, Periodontics, Pedodontics, Orthodontics, Prosthodontics, Public Health Dentistry, Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology and Forensic Odontology).

  2. PowerPoint presentation has to be submitted to the desk at the presentation hall, one hour prior to presentation.
  3. Presentation time will be 7 minutes and 2 minutes for discussion.
  4. Name of college and the guide name should not be revealed in the presentation. If revealed, the presenter would be disqualified.

RULES FOR E-POSTER PRESENTATION

  1. Minimum 2 and maximum 4 students per team. All the participants should speak about the poster.
  2. Students will be allowed to present papers in all BDS Clinical Subjects

    (Oral Medicine & Radiology, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics, Periodontics, Pedodontics, Orthodontics, Prosthodontics, Public Health Dentistry, Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology and Forensic Odontology).

  3. Only one slide in PowerPoint format to be submitted to the desk at the presentation hall, one hour prior to presentation.
  4. Presentation time will be 3 minutes and 1 minute for discussion.
  5. Name of college and the guide name should not be revealed in the presentation. If revealed, the presenter would be disqualified.

RULES FOR QUIZ

  1. Only one team from each college
  2. A team can have a maximum of 4 students.
  3. The team may include students of any year BDS curriculum.
  4. The Quiz competition will include all subjects including basic science.
  5. There will be a preliminary round, followed by the final round consisting of 4 teams.
  6. The Quiz Masters decision will be final.

RULES FOR TABLE CLINIC PRESENTATION

  1. Total Three teams per college can participate.
  2. Only Third year, Final year and Interns can participate in the table clinic.
  3. Maximum Five students per team are allowed.
  4. The time given for the arrangement of the table clinic will be one hour.
  5. Presentation time will be 5 minutes and 1 minute for discussion.

RULES FOR TEETH SETTING

  1. Maximum of three participants per college are allowed.
  2. Only Second year, Third year and Final Year students can participate.
  3. Bring articulated casts with bite rims duly signed by the Head of the Department on the articulated cast. The participant should also bring a Bonafide Certificate signed by the HOD.
  4. The participant should carry their own instruments.
  5. Teeth set would be provided by the organisers.
  6. Maximum time for Teeth setting will be two hours.
  7. The participants have to bring their own instruments and armamentarium required for the competition.
  8. Rubber sheet is mandatory and the place should be cleaned up after completion of work.

RULES FOR TOOTH MORPHOLOGY CARVING

  1. Only Second year students can participate.
  2. The participant should carry their own instruments.
  3. The participant can use only paraffin wax block issued by the organisers.
  4. The tooth to be carved will be decided only by the judge.
  5. The carved tooth needs to be complete conforming to the natural size.
  6. Maximum time for carving will be 1 hour.

RULES FOR ESSAY WRITING

  1. Only First year students can participate.
  2. The topic for the essay writing will be announced shortly.
  3. Maximum time permitted will be 1 hour.
  4. Papers for the competition will be provided by the organisers.

RULES FOR ART FROM DENTAL MATERIALS

  1. Total 4 teams per college can participate.
  2. Only First year & Second Year students can participate.
  3. Maximum of Three participants per team will be permitted.
  4. The participant should carry their own instruments.
  5. Maximum time for the event will be 2 hours.

Sports Events MIDAS - 2019

Sports Events Sports Events

GENERAL RULES

  • Teams has to register to all events before hand
  • Only the MIDAS registered candidates will be allowed to participate in any sports events.
  • Individual
  • MIDAS ID Card is mandatory to submit in front of the desk before starting of your sports events
  • For all events, participants are expected to report 10 minutes before the event.
  • During any event, any inappropriate behaviour, profanity or indecent language will not be tolerated. Immediate and strict action will be taken against participants and/or the team.
  • All participants should be dressed appropriately.
  • Negative points will be given to batches that do not participate in any event.
  • If a participant gives a walk over for any game/event, said participant will not be allowed to participate in forthcoming games/events.
  • Any dispute among colleges is to be brought to the attention of coordinators immediately.
  • Judge/Referee’s decision in all events is final.
  • Event timing will be informed on the Sport’s day

NOTE: Any clarification/queries regarding the rules please contact the sports co-ordinators.

MARCH PAST

  • Team has to report 30 minutes before the start of the march past
  • Teams has to follow the dress code
  • Male Co ordinator to carry the College Flag and female co ordinator to carry the placard
  • March past carry points for the steady and rhythmic walk with uniformity.

CRICKET

  • 1 Team per College
  • Qualifying Matches will be 8 over match and it is a knock out matches
  • Semi finals and Finals will be 10 over match
  • Players to wear only white and white jersy with sports shoes
  • Only the Ball will be provided
  • Cricket Gear should be brought by the teams.

VOLLEY BALL

  • 1 Team per college
  • 6 players per team and 3 substitutes
  • Qualifying matches will be the best of 1 set and it is a knock out matches
  • Semifinals and finals will be best of 3 sets
  • All the players should serve
  • No need for rotation

BASKET BALL

  • 1 Team per batch
  • 5 players per team with 2 subs
  • Time: 10-5-10 till semifinals
  • Final: 4 quarters: 3 minutes each.

FOOT BALL

  • 1 Team per college
  • 7 Players per team
  • 2 Halves- 5 minutes each half
  • Knock out Matches

THROW BALL

  • 1 Team per college
  • 9 players per team and 3 substitutes
  • Qualifying matches will be the best of 1 set and it is a knock out matches
  • Semifinals and finals will be best of 3 sets

TABLE TENNIS and BADMINTON

  • 1 Team per college
  • 2 singles and one doubles

CHESS

  • Only 2 Entries from each College
  • Knock out Matches

CARROM

  • One team per college
  • Only doubles knock out carrom matches

TRACK AND FIELD

  • 2 entries per event for a college
  • One should participate either in 3 track and 2 field /3 field and 2 track.
  • Shoe must be worn, spike shoes are encouraged, Barefoot strictly not allowed excluding relay
  • Warning will be given for the first false start, 2nd false start by the same athlete will
  • lead to disqualification
  • Any changes regarding any event should be informed priorly

  • TIME LIMIT FOR EVERY TEAM WOULD BE 10 MINUTES (INCLUDING SETUP AND THE PERFORMANCE).
  • NEGATIVE MARKING IF PARTICIPANTS EXCEED TIME LIMIT.
  • THEME SELECTION IS OPEN TO THE TEAM.
  • A GREEN ROOM WOULD BE PROVIDED FOR CHANGING.
  • SHOULD CARRY THEIR TRACKS IN PENDRIVE.

  • THE TIME ALLOTTED PER PERSON IS 2 MINS (INCLUDING SET UP OF INSTRUMENTS OR PROPS OR DEVICES)
  • PARTICIPANTS SHOULD INFORM THE ORGANIZERS ABOUT THEIR CHOICE OF PERFORMANCE AND GET THEIR APPROVAL ON OR BEFORE 15-12-18.
  • MUSIC (IF REQUIRED) SHOULD BE GIVEN PRIOR AT THE DJ CONSOLE IN PENDRIVE FORMAT ONLY, WE DON’T ENCOURAGE CD.
  • ANY OBSCENE USE OF LANGUAGE OR SIGNS IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED.

  • Should be done in both hands from finger tip to elbow on both sides
  • Students may choose any theme or style of mehendi drawing
  • 1 hour will be allotted per entry.All participants should follow the time allotted.

Rules:
  • Only one team per college with maximum of 2 participants.
  • Participants can choose any theme/concept.
  • 1 hour will be allotted per entry.All participants should follow the time allotted.
  • Bring your own candles of any colour and size.
  • Candles should be shown prior to the competition to the respective authorities.

PHOTOGRAPHY

RULES:
  • Only one photo per participant.
  • Maximum 5 participants per college.
  • Photos to be taken only within the venue campus on the day of event.
  • The original captured image to be submitted.
  • Should not use any app to enhance the image.
  • Strict evaluation on the artistic skill of photography.
  • Participant will be disqualified if indulged in malpractice.

TATOO ART

RULES:
  • One team per college.
  • Two participants per team.
  • Participants should bring their own materials.
  • Any theme/concept can be choosed by the participants.
  • 1 hour time will be allotted and participants should complete within the allotted time.
  • Tattoo can be done on the hands or face.

POT PAINTING

RULES:
  • Two participants per college.
  • One participant per team.
  • Pots and the necessary materials should be brought by the participants.
  • Participants can use any theme/concept.
  • No other materials can be used other than paints.
  • Pots should be shown to the respective authorities before the event starts.
  • 1 hour will be allotted and the participants should maintain the time allotted.

JEWELLERY DESIGNING

RULES:
  • One team per college.
  • Three participants per team.(One model and two participants)
  • Model should wear the jewels finally.
  • Necessary materials should be brought by the particpants.
  • Participants can make any type of jewellery.
  • 1 hour time will be allotted.Participants should maintain the time.

MOBILE CASE DESIGNING

  • Any type of stones or any other materials can be used

DESIGN A POSTER AD FOR MIDAS 2019

RULES:
  • Two participants per college.
  • Each one should design a poster ad for midas 2019.
