CRITERIAS FOR THE AWARD CATEGORY
1.Eligibility Criteria
- Must be below /above 40 years of age at the time of application.
- Must be a member of IDA.
- Must hold a postgraduate or doctoral degree in dentistry (MDS/PhD or
equivalent) in the speciality.
- Must be actively engaged in dental education, research, and academic
activities.
2. Teaching Excellence (30%)
- Enclose teaching experience in a recognized dental institution
- Innovative teaching methodologies, curriculum development, and student
engagement.
- Contribution to mentoring students and guiding research projects.
3. Research & Publications (20%)
- Number and quality of published research papers in indexed journals (PubMed,
Scopus, Web of Science).
- Contribution to dental science through original research and innovations.
- Securing research grants or funding from recognized bodies (ICMR, DST, etc.).
- Patents, book chapters, or authorship of textbooks (if any)
4. Professional Contributions & Leadership (25%)
- Active participation in dental associations, academic committees, and
conferences
- Involvement in curriculum design, accreditation processes, or academic
reforms.
- Organizing or conducting workshops, CDE programs, and faculty
development. (submit CDE credit points evidence)
- Serving as an editor/reviewer in reputed dental journals.
5. Community & Clinical Impact (10%)
- Contributions to public health dentistry, community outreach, and
awareness programs.
- Initiatives in student mentorship, free dental camps, or social impact
projects.
6. Awards & Recognition (15%)
- Previous awards or recognitions for excellence in academics or teaching.
- Invitations as a guest speaker, resource person, or keynote speaker in
conferences.

- Number of research articles published in high-impact, peer-reviewed dental journals
(Scopus, PubMed, Web of Science indexed)
- H-index and citation count of the researcher (Scopus/Web of Science/Google
Scholar)
- Quality of journals (Q1/Q2 ranking in Scimago Journal Ranking, impact factor).
- Consistency of publications over the last 5 years.
- Lead authorship (first or corresponding author) in major publications
3. Research Grants and Funding (10%)
- Research grants received from national (ICMR, DST, DBT) or international
bodies (NIH, WHO).
- Competitive funding for independent research projects
4. Academic Contributions and Mentorship (10%)
- Supervision of Ph.D. and postgraduate research projects.
- Development of research methodologies or protocols adopted by other
researchers
- Editorial board membership or reviewer role in high-impact journals.
5. Conference Presentations and Collaborations (10%)
- Invited speaker at national/international dental research conferences.
- International research collaborations and multi-centre studies.
