📝Abstract

Aim: To evaluate the effectiveness of various conservative methods in managing TSALD.

Materials and Method: Records of 100 patients with TSALD (2-5mm) were reviewed. Patients were divided into four groups based on treatment approach: IPR (Interproximal Reduction), distalization, arch expansion, and combination therapy. Treatment outcomes were evaluated in terms of space closure, stability and periodontal health.

Results: IPR showed most predictable results with 92% success rate followed by arch expansion (85%) and distalization (78%). The mean treatment duration was 18 months for IPR group, 22 months for expansion and 24 months for distalization group.

Conclusion: Conservative management of TSALD is effective when case selection is appropriate. IPR is a reliable and stable treatment modality for mild to moderate TSALD.
