Aim: To evaluate and compare the colour stability of three different composite resins after exposure to various staining solutions using spectrophotometer.
Materials and Method: Forty five discs of three composite resins (Filtek Z350XT, Tetric Ceram and Gradia Direct) were prepared and divided into three groups (n=15). Each group was immersed in coffee, cola and lemon juice respectively. Colour measurement was done at baseline, 24 hours and 7 days using spectrophotometer.
Results: All the composite resins showed colour changes after staining. Filtek Z350XT showed least colour change (ΔE=1.34) followed by Tetric Ceram (ΔE=1.78) and Gradia Direct (ΔE=2.45).
Conclusion: Nanofilled composite resins showed better colour stability compared to microhybrid and nanohybrid composite resins.
