IDA Madras-World Oral Health Day Event
On 26th March 2023 ,in Dharmaprakash Kalyana Mandapam Raja Annamalai Road, Purasawalkam Chennai-600084 IDA Madras Branch conducted a mega event on the eve of World Oral Health Day.
More than 550 beneficiaries participated.Along with dental , eye check up also done.

IDA Madras branch conducted a Community Dental Health
program on 23/2/2022 at Sir M.ct Muthiah chettiar boys
Hr.sec.school,purasaivalkam for 6,7,8 standard students with the
collaboration of Sree balaji Dental college & Hospital. We
examined the oral cavity as per WHO guidelines provided oral
health education.This was the second camp under the presidency
of Dr.selvakumar and Hon.sec Dr.A.P. Maheshwar.
CDH Convenor Dr.S.vijaya and advisor Dr.chandragupta and team
of doctors -Dr.Akbar,Dr.Riaz,Dr.Suganthi screened the school kids
along with the Sree balaji Dental college Team .
CDH Program 2022 -3rd CDH CAMP REPORTIDA Madras along with sri Balaji dental college & sri Balaji medical college conducted a health camp for the underprivileged children between the age groups 8-12 years on 26 th March,2022,3-6 pm at sethu foundation, Teynampet.
We the IDA Madras, with the collaboration were offered medical services for children as Dental,Eye check,ENT and skin. We examined the oral cavity,eyes,skin and ENT as per WHO guidelines and provided the oral health education.
This was the third camp under the presidency of Dr.J.Selvakumar,Hon.secretary Dr.A.P.Maheswar and Dr.S.Vijaya Suresh with the able guidance of Dr.Chandragupta and our own CDH team of doctors Rakesh,suganthi for their presence and support throughout the program.
Under the head of Dr.Anitha,HOD,CD department, sree Balaji dental college, we are taking this screening to the treatment part for the underprivileged children.
The camp screened 72 students.
The data collected is as follows:
Extraction-34 Scaling-19
Restoration- primary teeth-20 Permanent teeth-15 Orthodontic treatment-19.
The school kids were educated regarding oral hygiene maintenance.
IDA Madras branch donated paste,brush and awareness brochure for oral hygiene.
Fourth CDH Report
IDA Madras along with sri Balaji dental college & sri Balaji medical college conducted a health camp for the underprivileged children between the age groups 8-12 years on 2nd April,2022,3-6 pm at sethu foundation, Teynampet.

Fifth CDH report
The way to get meaning into life is to devote yourself to the community and to create something that gives purpose & meaning to
life.
On the occasion of World Health Day as a part of amrit mahotsav,on behalf of the IDA Madras branch, we are honoured to screen(
dental) which has been organized at National Institute of Empowerment of persons with multiple disabilities (NIEPMD) at East coast
road, muttukadu,kovalam,chennai on April 7,2022.
Under the presidency of Dr.J.selvakumar,Honorary secretary Dr.A.P.Maheswar and CDH Convenor Dr.S.VIJAYA Suresh.

We screened 139 special children.
We IDA Madras branch team of doctors undergone online training how to handle these special children.

SENSITIZATION PROGRAM FOR TOBACCO USERS
Cancer institute, adyar along with the collaboration of IDA MADRAS has
conducted a sensitization program for tobacco users, shop keepers and auto
drivers along with the department of public health , Government of Tamilnadu
on may,30,2022 at the auditorium ,
Dr.S.K Campus,cancer institute, [WIA]Dr,T.S.Selvavinayagam,director of public
health and preventive medicine, Government of tamilnadu , Dr,G.Selvaluxmy,
Director,Cancer Institute,has explained the ill effects of tobacco among
women,
Health consequences of tobacco usage are well explained with slide show by
Dr.Venkatesh,surgical oncology.
Tobacco- threat to our environment was very well potrayed by Mr.Cyril
alexander,Annai charitable trust.
Under the presidency of Dr.J.Selvakumar,Hon, Secretary Dr.A.P.Maheshwar,
CDH CONVENOR Dr,Vijaya Suresh and Dr.Kishorekumar from IDA MADRAS
attended the program.
Around 250 autodrivers, shopkeepers and tobacco users were benefitted by
this program.

IDA MADRAS along with the CANCER INSTITUTE organised for
a SAND SCULPTURE based on this year WHO theme,
TOBACCO, A THREAT TO ENVIRONMENT on account WNTD
2022 at Elliots beach, besant nagar on 31st May ,2022 with
the help of Govt fine arts college.
The sculpture was inaugurated by our state health minister
Ma, Subramaniam and the honourable Chennai mayor mrs
.priya.
Under the presidency of Dr.J.Selvakumar, Honorary secretary
Dr.A.P.Maheshwar, CDH Convenor Dr.S.Vijaya Suresh, Dr.
Chandragupta ,Dr. Pranav Balaji, Dr. Mansoor Ali attended
the program. APP to stop using tobacco was realeasd by the
honourable minister.CAT -children against tobacco
performed tamil martial art in front of the public gathering to
create awareness. Hundreds of public gathered and learnt
the ill effects of tobacco usage by the sand sculpture which
was opened to the public.

IDA Madras Branch in association with Cancer Institute, Adyar and IAPHD
(Tamilnadu Chapter), is jointly organised a“Signal Campaign” on account of
World No Tobacco Day, at 20 major signals across the Chennai city, on May
31st 2022, Tuesday, between 8am to 9am.
All the 18 dental colleges have chosen ONE major traffic Signal, close to
their college, did this campaign.
This is mainly done for awareness, early diagnosis and prevention of
Cancer.
The campaign included the skit for the awareness, display of placards,
banners, posters and distribution of pamphlets to the general public.
All COVID safety protocols were strictly followed.
All the participating students and staff in -charge were given certificates.
Cancer institute extended their sincere gratitude to all dental colleges who
worked with passion to take this tobacco awareness to next level.
Under the presidency of DR.J.SELVAKUMAR, Honorary secretary DR.A.P
MAHESHWAR, CDH CONVENOR DR.S.VIJAYA SURESH, with the guidance of
ADVISOR DR. M.S.CHANDRAGUPTA, has successfully coordinated with the
different college coordinators for this mega signal campaign.
Around 200 doctors, interns and students from various dental colleges
participated in the signal campaign across the city.
